Ronaldo endured a poor afternoon as he struggled to make an impact on the game in a disappointing team display from Carlo Ancelotti’s men, and former Liverpool and Atletico midfielder Garcia believes the Portuguese star was not in top condition.
“I think he’s not in shape – he’s not 100 per cent,” he said.
“When you saw Ronaldo playing before you saw him strong, he had the speed, the power. Today he looked like his legs were not strong enough.
“He was losing the pace, he gave the ball away very easily, and it’s not the Cristiano we are used to.”
Former Tottenham and Real Zaragoza midfielder Nayim also believed Ronaldo was not his usual self in a game which saw Atletico close in on the top two in La Liga
