The Disbelieving Gossip

MORATA COULD MAKE PREM MOVE
'Liverpool and Arsenal will go head-to-head for the signature of Juventus star Alvaro Morata this summer', reports the Express.

It sounds a rather primitive way to decide which club should sign the striker - and even the writer of the piece itself seems torn over whether the rumour should even be taken seriously.

'The former Real Madrid striker has finally found his feet in Turin following a big-money move last year, keeping compatriot Fernando Llorente out of the starting XI in recent times,' reads one sentence. 'Morata is desperate for a first-team role with the Serie A champions, but has made his agent aware that joining a new club could be on the cards at the end of the season,' reads another.

So Morata is desperate for a role he already has...but could leave anyway. On board with this? Okay, well he probably won't join Liverpool or Arsenal anyway, the Express eventually reveals, claiming Morata could instead return to Real Madrid, where he apparently stands more chance of regular action due to doubts over the future of Karim Benzema. Hmmm...
